Group Meeting & Museum

 April 22, 2025

Today we had lunch with our Good Life Abroad cohort along with the group that arrived two weeks before- another group of very nice people.  After a hearty meal, a few of us made our way to the Carnavalet Museum whose focus is the history of Paris.

There were old street signs

Loved this one from a cheese shop called Aux Trois Rats (The Three Rats) which turned out to be historically from the neighborhood we live in now. Fortunately none have been seen!

There were “charming” scenes from the French Revolution - Louis XVI first below and then Marie Antoinette.

Which inspired these guillotine earrings

For some reason those aren’t sold much anymore.

We walked another 4 1/2 miles today which is typical for a day in Paris only occasionally walking the same street twice. To rest our aging bones,  there are occasional benches along most routes in public spaces to enjoy the two fold pastime of people watching and relaxing.

All in all a good day.
