Le Musée D’Orsay
April 25, 2025
Today’s adventure took us to Le Musée D’Orsay. Though we had a ticket with a scheduled time, so did several hundred other people so we spent time in line waiting to be admitted to the very crowded museum. Luckily the exhibits that interested us did not interest most so we were actually able to enjoy our time in this gorgeous museum which was originally a train station.
Our favorite was the works of Christian Krohg (1852-1925) called The People of the North which captured the every day lives of Norwegians.
This one is “The Struggle for Existence”
Below is a painting from the series “North Wind”
Most parents can relate to this one…
Below is a self portrait by Krohg called “The Morning After” which actually reflected how Ed was feeling after a wee too much wine at Happy Hour last night.
This one remains so timely- universal suffrage vs. royalty as a form of government.
Beautiful gardens there, we’ll return when the weather’s better.

What a gorgeous museum that is! So glad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteWe've been fortunate the two times we visited Paris. We went in off seasons and never waited in a live at any of the museums. I enjoyed the D'Orsay but found the building to be my favorite part.
ReplyDeleteCecily had a great time seeing you ☺️
