Picasso Museum
April 24, 2025
The Picasso Museum was our focus today. We love his work though his personal life was not something to praise. However, we went there to appreciate his art and the museum did not disappoint. There was a large collection of his work but also an exhibit of “Degenerate Art” as defined by the Nazis. They confiscated a large volume of art and sold it, including works by Picasso, Chagall & Kandinsky.
We thoroughly enjoyed the way the Picasso collection was curated, tracing the evolution of his art through many media and periods of his artistic life.
Here are two versions of “The Kiss” - light from the opposing window unfortunately
Girl jumping rope was one of our favorites.
The collection finished with portraits - some of his two muses, some unknown.
Having had a bit too much wine, we took the métro back to our busy neighborhood and called it a night.
Tomorrow it’s the Musee d’Orsay.
