L’Opéra Garnier & Croissant Baking Class

 May 7, 2025

Cold weather has returned to Paris (low 50’s to low 60’s in this case) which I rather prefer.  To warm ourselves we toured the Opéra Garnier.  I was there for a ballet performance as a teen and so wanted Ed to see the amazing interior.  We did a guided tour only as we were unable to get tickets to any performance there during our time here. As our time to leave draws near (9 days from now) we realize that one month here is truly not enough and we are going to have to return.

A few pics from our tour:

Just another amazing ceiling!

And another!

It’s so worth a visit, even if just for a tour.  After that we went to our scheduled croissant baking class led by Chef Christian who was not only charming but engaging.  We were 8 in all and had fun learning about and actually making all of this:

We finished the day by dining with our cycling friends from Montana who are here for a different trip completely.  Thanks for dinner John and Melissa, so great to see you!

  1. The ceilings of the opera are amazing! We have never visited in our travels. Certainly something for next time. The cooking class looked like a great time.
