Oslo, Norway day 2
May 28, 2025
We had signed up for a hike in the nearby mountain and lucky for us the weather was great!
Below is a monument representing the 5 years of Nazi occupation during the war
The air was crisp and sunny for this early morning hike.
A traditional Norwegian home. The grass roof used by be kept short by goats. (This is still true at Al Johnson’s restaurant in Door County Wisconsin.)
No, it’s not a dinosaur, it’s the Olympic ski jump!
We were told by our guide that many Norwegians believed in trolls for a long time. (Troll is originally a Norwegian word.). This one keeps guard over the ski jump and cross-country ski center.
Lovely view of Oslo from the mountain top.
I finally saw the old city as we were pulling out of port.
Oslo has 40 islands within the city limits so there are many ferrys.
And of course, there are many many boats.
Au revoir Oslo, we shall definitely return for a longer stay.
